We all know that the first Star Ocean was released in 1996 on the Super NES, but was never brought to the shores of the US. But now after 12 years it’s finally made it! Now available on the PSP is the fully restored, English dubbed Star Ocean the First Departure! Also with new fully animated CG movies done by the same people that created Star Ocean EX (an anime based off of the second Star Ocean) ! This was released late October and runs for 40 US$. *so worth it*
We also know that 1998 Star Ocean the Second Story was released in Japan for the PS1 and a year later was released in US. Well January of 2009, the second story that we know and love will also be available on the PSP fully restored, English dubbed also with new fully animated CG movies created by the same people that made Star Ocean EX!

I'm hoping that they port SO4 to the PS3 though. I'm not a fan of the x-box. Although I must admit the trailers, that I've seen are gorgeous, I have only one, but honkin' huge problem with it...WHAT THE HELL IS UP THOSE COSTUME DESIGNS!??"
I thought the costume designs from FFXII were over-elaborate. It looks like they're wearing mobile suit paneling. Which is gonna make it really difficult for cosplayers and fan artists. Hopefuly if they're smart, they'll give it the SO3 treatment, and toss in some alternative outfits.
